TOPIC FOR THE WEEK –  Passages from Swamiji on Jesus.

Have all religions had their deepest roots in kundalini awakening?

We have to see it this way. All religions have evolved from someone who has their own deep experience, and experience can only happen after the awakening of kundalini.

In every religion we find saints who have had their own spiritual experience and the basis of these experiences is kundalini awakening. But people do not understand experience, they follow what is written. Religion should be based on experience.

So, over time, this connection with kundalini awakening has been lost?

Following the earliest writings about Jesus and the completion of the Bible we have little understanding of what went on. But there must have been a continuation of guru energy of some kind.

Is it the same of Gautama Buddha, that little was written later?

It is the same. These books were completed many years ago and little was written later about the process of awakening. It is a long period of time from then until today. But this awakening of kundalini has never ceased. At least a few people would have been awakened in order for the energy to continue. Awakening is a process of nature, and gurus have always been a part of this process.

Have there been living gurus in the West in the past?

Unfortunately, the concept of guru has gone from the West. It saddens me when people here say they have no guru concept. Jesus Christ was a living guru, a satguru, but people changed him into a form of God. So the concept has gone, people have removed it.

~~~~~~~~~
Would Jesus Christ’s kundalini energy have been awakened in somebody’s presence?
Jesus Christ’s kundalini must have been awakened through someone. We do not have that knowledge but, for someone to be awakened, this has to happen in someone else’s presence. If there is a child, the child has to be born from his or her mother’s womb. For Jesus to be awakened, someone must have helped.
Jesus also never said that he was God, he said that he was God’s son. He tried to make people understand that there is something else that he felt was like a father, that he had faith in a higher reality. We have to think then, what is this higher reality? This is universal consciousness.
Jesus never said that he was the whole, but many people have made him into a God. No-one can be God, human beings can only be a medium, because God is universal consciousness. Consciousness will always be here, and a medium will always be here to channel this energy.
Through the grace of these great saints of the past flows the good that is benefiting society. Jesus gave people the understanding of the value of forgiveness. Earlier, people did not have this concept clear, but humanity has been helped in this way.
There can be a confusion in the West as to whether Jesus was God or not.
This is the fault of people, not Jesus Christ.
Are there gurus of different faiths in the Himalayas, like Christian or Jain gurus?
There are those of different religions and different castes. But in that world there is really no religion, nobody talks about these things. There is only guru and disciple. And I recognised my gurus through their energy. Even today when I remember them I become connected with them through their energy.
Just in the same way that you were talking about Jesus today, by connecting with the energy of Jesus?
Yes. Whatever people have said about Jesus, the energy is at a much higher level than they have conveyed, so why have they not conveyed the reality?
So is there a difference between what we know about Christianity and this level of energy? We say that Jesus Christ founded Christianity, but his energy is at a much higher level than the religion that followed him.
A spiritual person develops to a certain level and talks about morality and his particular religion, and is connected with people in that religion. There is another person who rises to another level and is connected with all humanity.
Jesus is at that higher level and not the intermediary one, because someone who is connected with mankind and talks about humanity cannot be of any specific religion. So why did they make him so small, why have people restricted him?
The scale of him?
Whatever people might think or say, we should understand this in the true sense, in the right way. Jesus is considered by some as God but he did not call himself God, he said he was God’s son because he was aware that a human being cannot be God.
The son of God is a human being, and whether someone is called the son of God or a guru, the relationship with this human being is the same, just as I discovered divinity through my guru.
By considering Jesus as God, people have created a distance between Jesus and themselves, and thus between God and themselves; in this way the distance increases between God and a human being.
Actually a guru meditates, he tells of his experiences in his lifetime, and then after he dies his followers start changing what was shared, and begin creating a religion. It is not the guru’s fault. Any good that exists in the world should not be restricted to one group, it is for humanity.
A Christian lady who tried the meditation was wondering if it is possible to connect with universal consciousness through the subtle body of Jesus Christ, but I think you have just explained that, perhaps, she cannot connect with the subtle body energy of Jesus alone, she needs a living guru, as a medium for this?
Without a medium one cannot reach that height, one has to go through a living guru.
So, through your subtle body a Christian could connect with the purity of Jesus Christ’s subtle body energy?
I will not say it is only through me. You need the medium of any able guru in order to do this. As I say, I am a person who can open the windows and clean your room. A human being needs an able person, a pure channel, who can do this for them.
And so there is no conflict, for someone who wishes to connect, through a living guru, with the subtle body energy of Gautama Buddha or Jesus Christ? This is a pure way of reaching consciousness through an individual’s own culture or the particular belief system they were brought up in?
If one is to connect with Gautama Buddha someone must be connected with his energy, there needs to be a channel to this energy. If one is to meet with Jesus Christ there must be a channel to his energy in some form in the present.
Those who were there in the past cannot help you directly; you have to search for a connection with this energy through someone who is alive.
If you have already found God, or found someone whom you feel to be a form of God, why is it necessary to keep searching? If someone is searching this means that he or she has not found God.
From childhood I had a great search for God. I accepted the truth that I had not found God and yet continued in search of God. My heart was open, I felt that in whatever form I was to feel divinity I was ready to accept it, because I had total confidence that God never comes back through the same form. Past gurus cannot have the same form again.
When I reached my living guru I felt divinity and I accepted him as my medium to God. And my spiritual journey started within, because I understood then that God is inside us.
People who are searching deeply for Jesus Christ or Gautama Buddha, after a strong, searching wish, will meet a living guru. And if they start to feel and understand that the energy is within the guru and within themselves, then all searching will stop.
We keep searching for God outside us but, in reality, God is within us. If we want to see how we look we need to see our reflection in a mirror. A living guru is like a mirror reflecting that God is within.
~~~~~~~~~

Did great spiritual leaders and teachers in the past have kundalini awakening, and could they awaken the kundalini of others above the agya chakra, like Jesus Christ or Gautama Buddha?

They were up to the sahastrara chakra themselves but could impart this power to only a very limited number of people, perhaps one guru in his lifetime to just one person. Awakening is not in the hands of a guru, a guru cannot do anything alone.

And through what I say I do not mean that I am powerful, I will never say that I am powerful, there is no ‘I’ in this, no identity.

The guru lineage evolves through history. Jesus Christ and Gautama Buddha worked in this process, all great gurus who have come into society have been of deep benefit to the evolution of this work in society.

~~~~~~~~~
You say that Jesus Christ and Gautama Buddha could help people to reach the agya chakra but, generally, no further. If they couldn’t connect people with universal consciousness through the sahastrara, why did they have so many followers? Was the ability to reach the agya chakra still a very powerful ability?
It was not a question of the ability of Gautama Buddha or his disciples, it was not the right time to take them all to the sahastrara. At midnight the sun never rises, because this is not the time of a rising sun. In the same way, it was not the right time for a wide awakening to the sahastrara.
Was it not the right time because people did not ask?
This is also so. In whichever way, it was not the right time.
So perhaps many followers of Jesus Christ could not connect with universal consciousness?
But before a guru left his body he must have prepared at least one disciple.
~~~~~~~~~

Have all great spiritual teachers moved beyond their own identity and merged with universal consciousness? Did Jesus move beyond his own identity, and his name, in the process of merging with universal consciousness?

Yes.

Beyond his body?

Every great guru does this.

~~~~~~~~~
Do you recognize the energies of gurus who are supporting you, and when they are connected with you, say, when you give blessings at a festival?
The first point is that universal consciousness is one. The medium to universal consciousness has to be empty, as does the one receiving. The energy of Jesus Christ, Gautama Buddha and Lord Krishna is the same, it is just that the mediums are different.
The receiving improves when people are together in collectivity. If I give blessings at a festival I become empty. I merge with nature, and universal consciousness flows through me. I do not call anyone, I become zero. If I give blessings they are not from me, I am only the medium, the channel.
However, I can feel when energy is coming from a particular guru. It is a feeling I have, this is how I can identify it. But, otherwise, the energy is the same
If anything to say, it’s…
    Thank you Tim for sharing this. It not only brings out clearly the unique position of a living medium, the glory of past Sadgurus like Jesus and Buddha but also how blessed we must be to live in this amazing time when Babaswami makes it so easy to understand all this! Thank you, again.
    Jai Baba Swami,
    this is a wonderful article for the Easter time when Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ which in truth is the symbol of the awakening and victory of our soul over death, ego and the ´web of illusions´. I feel very deeply that the true lessons of Jesus and what we experience with Samarpan Meditation are not only no contradiction but in essence the same. Brothers & Sisters, let us go the way of resurrection/awakening/liberation together! With Love to all, Helmut.
